Carel Hooijkaas | CEO

Carel Hooijkaas has over 25 years of experience in the oilfield services and equipment industry. Most recently, he was responsible for the Integrated Services Management operations at Schlumberger. Previous leadership positions at Schlumberger have included President WesternGeco, Vice President Integrated Project Management and Production Management for Europe & Africa, North Sea GeoMarket Manager, Vice President for WesternGeco’s Global Marine business, WesternGeco West Africa Region Manager, WesternGeco Marine North and South America Manager and a variety of roles of increasing leadership responsibility in WesternGeco’s Oslo Technology Center. Carel started his career at Schlumberger as Navigation Shift Leader onboard seismic acquisition vessels. He holds a MSc in Measurement & Control from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.


Mark Ivin | CFO

Mark Ivin has more than 20 years experience in finance and management roles. Prior to joining Magseis Fairfield as CFO, Mark held the position of CFO at Get AS, a leading fiberbased broadband and TV provider in Norway. Previous positions include Finance Director at Statkraft, a leading company in hydropower internationally and Europe's largest generator of renewable energy, Partner at PwC and Senior Manager at EY, both in Oslo, Norway, and Finance Manager at Hughes Space & Communications in Los Angeles, California, USA. Mark is also on the board of directors of Oslo Børs listed Infront ASA, a global market data, news, analytics and securities trading tool company. He holds a Master of International Management degree in Finance from Thunderbird School of Global Management, Arizona, USA, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from University of Denver, Colorado, USA.

Mark Zajac CTO Chief Technology Officer

Mark Zajac | CTO

Mark Zajac has 30 years of experience in the oilfield service industry, most of that time with WesternGeco, where he held a variety of global leadership positions in marine seismic operations, support and technology. Mark has extensive international business experience and has held positions in Europe, Norway, Asia and the US, including Applied Technology Marine Manager, Global Operations Support Manager and Vice President for Southeast Asia. His technology management experience includes acquisition, positioning, streamer and towing systems development, as well as the development of acquisition technique and practices.  Mark began his career on a Western Geophysical 3D marine seismic crew after obtaining a BSc in Oceanographic Technology from the Florida Institute of Technology.  He also holds an MBA in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix.


Tom Scoulios | COO

Tom Scoulios joined Magseis Fairfield in 2017 where he is currently serving as COO. Before joining Magseis Fairfield, Tom worked for more than 20 years in the seismic and oil and gas industries. He began his career with Western Geophysical as a Field Geophysicist after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Sciences from Texas A&M University. He went on to serve in various regional operations and global senior management roles at WesternGeco in North and South America, Asia, as well as HQ. Following that he spent time at Schlumberger in the Global Accounts group and at Polarcus in Multiclient before joining Magseis Fairfield.


Simon Hayter | CSO

Simon Hayter joined Magseis Fairfield in 2017 where he is currently serving as CSO. Prior to joining Magseis Fairfield, Simon worked for more than 20 years in WesternGeco & Schlumberger. After graduating from University College London (BSc) and Imperial College London (MSc), he briefly worked for Hunt Oil in London, before beginning at Western Geophysical as a Field Geophysicist. He went on to serve in various regional operations, sales and management roles within WesternGeco & Schlumberger, located in SE Asia, Russia, Houston and London.

Sharon Barclay

Sharon Barclay | CHRO

Sharon Barclay joined Magseis Fairfield in October 2018 as part of the Fairfield Geotechnologies acquisition.  Sharon has more than 25 years of experience in leading HR teams in international companies in the Oil & Gas, High Technology, Software and Manufacturing industries, including Siemens, TMK-IPSCO and Schneider Electric.  She holds a Bachelors of Business Administration degree and a Master of Science in Human Resources Management from Texas A&M University in the USA.

Ivar Gimse, EVP Business Development

Ivar Gimse | SVP Business Development

Ivar Gimse is one of the Co-Founders of Magseis Fairfield, serving as CEO until 2016. He has more than 25 years of seismic industry experience, with particular focus on data processing, multi-client seismic project development, Ocean Bottom Cable operations and technical marketing. Ivar held various senior management positions with Geco-Prakla and PGS and InSeis before founding Magseis Fairfield. He holds a Master of Science in Geophysics from the University of Oslo.


Laila Myksvoll | Group General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Laila Myksvoll has more than 25 years of experience in legal management and advisory roles. Prior to joining Magseis Fairfield she served as general counsel and corporate secretary at media- and telecom operators Get AS and TDC AS (now Telia) and as a lawyer and partner at several Oslo based top tier law firms. Laila has extensive experience as a legal advisor to Board of Directors, CEO and executive management. Her practice includes corporate law, mergers & acquisitions, corporate governance, compliance, HR matters, regulatory affairs, intellectual property, contract negotiation, litigation and arbitration. Laila holds a Master of Laws from the University of Bergen, Norway.
