Visit us at GEO 2020 – booth #014

Magseis Fairfield is a proud sponsor of GEO 2020 to be held in Bahrain, 14-17 September. Please stop by to see us at the Magseis Fairfield booth. We will be happy to discuss with you our industry leading OBN acquisition systems, which will be on display. Our OBN systems, coupled with our unique source capabilities, are designed to ensure your next project is cost effectively acquired while providing you with the data you need to make informed decisions about your reservoir. We look forward to seeing you there!

In addition to our booth presence, Magseis Fairfield’s Chief Geophysicist, Eivind Frømyr, will explore advances in seismic data acquisition when he presents his paper – “Improving source efficiency and quality in OBN acquisition”. You may view the full abstract for more information on his presentation, or visit the show website for a full schedule of technical sessions.

Improving source efficiency and quality in OBN acquisition

Presented by Eivind Frømyr, Chief Geophysicist, Magseis Fairfield

SUMMARY

Until recently, the overwhelming majority of marine seismic has been acquired by streamer. Over the last few years however, the efficiency of OBN acquisition has significantly improved in such a way that OBN acquisition can be considered for a wider range of applications. It is principally on the receiver side that efficiency gains have occurred. The next step in both efficiency and quality will come by reconsidering the source side and improving sampling density, bandwidth and offset by the application of simultaneous shooting.
